The UmeCobra is theBoom's two-port noise-cancelling microphone for high-noise cockpits: the front port concentrates your voice, the rear port rejects rotor and engine noise. The US Air Force Research Laboratory measured 82% speech intelligibility at 105 dB against 72% for the M-87. It retrofits standard flight helmets and aviation headsets in under a minute and is flown by military helicopter pilots, hoist operators, rescue divers and flight-line crews. This is the amplified electret (Turbo) version on a swivel (rotating) mount, for civil helicopter intercom systems that supply 6–30 V DC bias on a U-174 plug — the usual fit for MSA Gallet LH250/LH350, Alpha Eagle and EVO helmets.
