Equipment and PPE for ground and technical work
Where this category stops
Everything here protects a crew on the ground, on deck or at height, which is a different job from anything worn in the aircraft. Flight suits, survival suits, life vests and helmet comms sit under flight gear instead. The split matters because the two sets are not interchangeable in either direction, and most operators end up buying from both.
Five areas, five different decisions
Technical safety helmets come down to weight against ventilation, with the same accessory mounts across the range. Harnesses are chosen by the job rather than the model: fall arrest, work positioning and rope access need different attachment points, and offshore work adds corrosion to the list. Reinforced leather work gloves are a question of dexterity against protection, and safety footwear joins the range shortly. The rope access page carries the kit around the rope itself: rope bags, edge protectors, belt pouches and tool lanyards from EMG.
Each sub-category page goes through its own decision in detail. If you already know the task but not the product, describe the work and we will propose a configuration rather than send a catalogue.
What NVQ can and cannot tell you
We supply this equipment as a Petzl dealer; we do not certify it. Which standard a model and configuration holds, and whether it suits your procedure, has to come from the product documentation and your own risk assessment. Ask for the documentation on anything here and we will send it. Serviced items can be tracked per unit in the NVQ platform, so inspection dates surface before they lapse.
