Technical safety helmets for professional crews

Petzl's two ventilated professional helmets separate on weight and liner. The STRATO VENT runs an EPP/EPS liner and is the lighter of the two, which tells after a few hours overhead; the VERTEX VENT has adjustable vents and the comfort that comes with them. Both take the same modular accessory mounts, so headlamps, visors and hearing protection move between them and a mixed fleet does not turn into two sets of spares.

These protect against falling objects and impact during work at height. An aviation flight helmet is a different product with a different purpose: it protects against impact inside the aircraft and carries the crew's communications. Neither substitutes for the other, and a crew that does both jobs carries both helmets. Helmet microphones and aircrew headsets are under crew communications.
