Helmet bags for flight and work helmets

A round 20-litre bag sized for a helmet: one zipped main compartment, a side pocket, a transparent A5 document pocket and a velcro panel with four patch slots for name tags and crew branding. The EMG Helmet Bag ships from Denmark in blue and grey, with logo print or embroidery applied by NVQ on request.

Choosing a helmet bag

Why a helmet bag is round

A flight helmet is the most expensive single item a crew member carries and the easiest to damage in transit: a visor scratched against a zip, a shell dented under a kit bag, comms leads crushed at the bottom of a holdall. A dedicated helmet bag exists to give the helmet its own space, upright, with nothing pressing on it.

The EMG Helmet Bag is a round 20-litre bag, 33 cm across and 33 cm high, built around exactly that — one large zipped main compartment sized for a flight or work helmet, so the helmet sits centred rather than wedged. It weighs 0.7 kg empty and is made from D1800×900 flat-coated PVC, which wipes clean and does not soak up fuel, rain or hangar-floor grime.

Identification: the velcro panel and four patch slots

On a base with twenty identical black bags, identification is a practical problem, not a cosmetic one. The bag carries a large velcro strip and four Ø 10 cm velcro slots on the outside — room for a name tag, a role patch, a company patch and a unit marking, placed the same way on every bag in the crew.

NVQ applies logo print or embroidery before shipping: choose the placement, upload the artwork, and the bag arrives branded. For an operator running a crew equipment programme, that means every new crew member's bag matches the rest of the roster without anyone on the base doing the work.

Pockets and carry

Two pockets besides the main compartment, both zipped: a small side pocket for ear seals, a spare visor cloth or a torch, and a transparent A5 pocket on the outside where a checklist, a laminated card or documents can be read without opening the bag. Top carry handles for the short walk to the aircraft, and a detachable shoulder strap for the longer one.

Available now, in blue and grey

The EMG Helmet Bag 20 L is ready to ship from Denmark in blue and grey — standard delivery is up to 14 business days, and personalisation adds 7–14 business days for print or embroidery. It can be ordered individually or added to an operator's NVQ catalogue so crew members order their own.

For everything else a crew member carries between base, aircraft and home — backpacks, trolleys, a survival suit bag — see flight bags and crew backpacks.
